Star Wars Blu Ray

This is the image that I got in my e-mail from StarWars.com Yep, a big hint at the reveal for the Star Wars Blu Ray disks that I can't stop waiting for.

Now you probably already know that Sept. 16th of this year Lucasfilm is releasing all of the Star Wars movies on glorious Blu Ray format. There has been a lot of talk from Lucasfilm about all the extras that will be packed on to the disks. Evidently on May 4th we'll all finally get to stop speculating and know what bountiful goodies await us from the Star Wars archives.

Damn. I wish I could just fast forward to September already...

On May 3rd we're going to be treated to a new DLC, and a big part of that DLC will be Call of the Dead. Yep, they're adding more zombie awesomeness to Black Ops. But wait, there's more! Danny Trejo, Robert Englund, Sarah Michelle Geller and Michael Rooker are on board. It looks kind of like Black Ops meets Left 4 Dead. And it looks 100% kick ass. You know what I'll be doing May 3rd.

Evil Dead The Phone Game!

Ash is back! Well, as always, sort of. In this iteration, Evil Dead returns again as a game. So pick up your boomstick and your iPad or iPhone and get ready to kick some Deadite ass. Ghost House Pictures has teamed with Trigger Apps to bring even more signature Evil Dead style and fun to our portable media devices. The game should be around $2.99 for the phone version and $4.99 for your iPad. It's a 3D shooter where you take control of Ash and help him lead his group of friends though Deadite infested levels. Iconic weaponry from the game will be used to dispatch the Deadites with Ash's trademark swagger. How much does it kick ass that 30 years after it's release we're still getting fresh Evil Dead content. If you didn't say a lot of ass then you're on the wrong website. Sure, we'd all love to see a new Evil Dead or Army of Darkness film, but that's not going to happen. Maybe a re-make down the line, but seriously, it's not gonna be Bruce Campbell good. Apps like this game and all the Evil Dead comics are a godsend for old horror fans like me. The game should be out in a few weeks, just in time for spring. And lets be honest with each other, you'd rather be inside playing Evil Dead on your iPad than out in the sun anyway.

The Lords of Salem

Rob Zombie has a new low budget horror film in the works. The Lords of Salem is Zombie's new project and while there is little news about the film thus far, to the right you can see a teaser poster that Zombie released today. The movie is produced by the guys who brought us Insidious and Paranormal Activity.

Here's what Zombie has given as the synopsis; "The story is about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town. 300 Years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folks were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. The Lords of Salem ran the town with an iron fist, but for four witches who were tortured and killed in secrecy vowed that one day they would be back for revenge."

Well, that sounds pretty bad ass. And since it's an original movie Zombie can't ruin it for me like he did the Halloween movies. I've always loved Zombie's visual style and the dark and dirty horror that he produces. Really gonna be keeping my eye on this one. If it's original horror from Rob Zombie, I'm there opening day. Keep it up, Rob. And make T-Rex after this one. Or Werewolf Women of the SS. I would love to see either make it to the big screen.

Homefront Review By Nick

Well, I finally took the time to play Homefront, the new FPS from KAOS and THQ. The single player story line was written by John Milius, the writer of Apocalypse Now and Red Dawn. That guy looks like Walter from The Big Lebowski, so there's no way that the story can't kick ass.

Well, you know what? The single player story does kick ass, and fairly mightily. The year 2027 and you've been arrested by the United Korean Government. See, this wicked lead up video that is at the bottom of this review tells the story of how North and South Korea have joined to become Super Korea and kick the shit out of the rest of the world. Where the game begins, Korea pretty much runs most of Asia and has recently invaded a poverty stricken United States. You're a resistance fighter trying to get your America on and kick some Korean ass. Your plan, to retake San Fransisco. I don't know, maybe the Koreans stole your Prius or something and you're mighty pissed.

The game play is pretty basic for an FPS but it's a formula that works. What really kept me in this game was the story. Sure, military FPS games are a god damn dime a dozen these days, but in Homefront, they really lay the story on thick. You are one of the last hopes for American liberation. You're fighting your way through US cities en route to San Fransisco where you will aide in the re-taking of the Golden Gate Bridge. And this game gets your blood up. There are around three "holy shit" moments that I recall from my first play through that really make you want to shoot the shit out of some invaders. As with most FPS's the story mode isn't that long. All in all though I found it fairly rewarding and I would like to see some DLC that continues the story, not just enhances the On-Line play.

The On-Line play in general is pretty fun. Points given out for kills and all that other stuff that you're used to from an On-Line FPS. Some standout features that I really liked were that you have have up to 32 player ground wars. That's a lot of annoying British kids calling me a fag. Also, unlike say Black Ops, the online is very vehicles based. As you build your kill count you can afford to use the points you accrued to purchase different vehicles. From your basic tanks to different types of airborne implements of destruction.

Overall I think that Homefront is a very entertaining FPS. Sure, when I'm looking for an On-Line Deathmatch I'm probably going to throw in Halo Reach or Black Ops, but Homefront gives a nice break from those from time to time. What really drew me into this game was the story. I love a good story in a game. Hell, one of my favorite parts of the Halo franchise is the depth of the story and the universe that they've created. So yea, Homefront really scratches that vengeance/shoot him in the fucking head itch. So this July 4th, do what I'm going to do. Watch Independence Day, get hammered, eat some sort of meat that you forgot about on the grill and is wicked overcooked but you're too drunk to go to the store and way too drunk to think to order a pizza, and liberate the shit out of San Fransisco on Homefront. God Bless Video Games!

Yoostar 2 Can't Be This Cool

You know what video game heros that we all are here at The Nothing Files. Well, I keep hearing about this Yoostar 2 in the movies game for the Xbox 360 and PS3. It looks bad ass. Super bad ass actually. You get to put yourself into famous scenes from your favorite movies. Fuck. Bad ass. Well, maybe. I probably can't act at all and the game will tell me the extent to which I can't. Just like Rock Band taught me that I can't sing, Def Jam Rap Star taught me that I can't rap, and DJ Hero taught me that I will never have sex with a girl that I just met at a party. But this game looks so fun... If only I had friends like Jay Baruchel to play it with...

Green Lantern WonderCon

Well, it's been almost a year since I've posted and since then there has been almost nothing about the new Green Lantern film. There's a lot of speculation out there that that's mostly due to the fact that the movie sucks and the studio doesn't want people to find out so they can still get a good box office. I have to be honest. I've never been that big into Green Lantern. Sure, he always seemed cool, and Blackest Night kicked ass. It's just not a character that I ever really followed. That's on me I guess. I will say that this new footage from WonderCon seems pretty soild. Sure, it's way CGI heavy, but a GL film pretty much has to be. Hopefully the rumors of GL in this film having too much Ryan Reynolds humor could be true, but I'll give it a chance. There's no way that it can be Spider Man 3 bad.

X-Men 1st Class Retro Credits

Well, it's been almost a year since the last post. Sorry about that. I blame Thom. It must have taken something pretty cool to get me to dust the old site off, and it sure has. Here is a title crawl for the new X-Men First Class movie. Now this title crawl will never been seen in theaters. Just kind of a teaser they put out to build hype. And I think that it's bad ass. I'm really not excited with what I've seen so far out of the First Class reboot/prequil. Even after I heard that Cable will show up to introduce a timeline changing event that will make this film separate from the ones that have already come out. But this trailer rocks. I love the uber 60's slant that they put on it. So while I'm still not sure that the movie itself won't suck, here's an awesome trailer to set you up for some epic dissapointment.

The Green Lantern

Well, here you have it. A highly anticipated look at Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern.

It's actually kind of cool. Suits all CGI and all that. I'm wondering if they're doing that so that his suit can morph from the ring powers at different points in the movie. Or maybe I'll glow differently depending on his strength or focus. Anyway, I really don't think it looks all that bad.

So, there it is. Deadpool as Green Lantern. I actually kind of like Reynolds so I'll be really looking forward to this one coming out.

Here's another video of awesomeness from E3. Can't wait for Dead Rising 2? Fuck, I can't either. Fortunately we're gonna get a taste sooner than I would have thought. Exclusively on XBox is Dead Rising 2 Case: 0. Set 2 years before the events of the game. And the best part? All the stuff you unlock for your character, including leveling up, carries over into the main Dead Rising 2 game itself. It's a DLC only game, but I've yet to be able to pin down a release date. One would have to think that it will be soon though, as Dead Rising 2 is slated for August 31. Enjoy the zombie mayhem!

Transformers: War for Cybertron

For everyone else though, E3 2010 brings us more awesomeness! Here we have the upcoming Transformers video game, War for Cybertron. From what I remember of this, the movie takes place on Cybertron, the Transformers homeworld, and you can choose to fight for either the evil Decepticons, or the virtuous Autobots. Evidently both stories exist seamlessly in the game so you have to play both to get the full story. Also you're able to transform at will utilizing both your robot and vehicle powers. I'm pretty excited about that, and it's about time the Transformers got a decent video game. After what Jerry Bruckheimer has been doing to them these past years, they've earned it.

For me I was just getting into college and one of my favorite past times was getting drunk/high with my buddies and playing Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64. Well, fast forward 13 years to the present and us lucky Wii owners are going to get to relive that. Well, not just relive it, it's a whole new Goldeneye! Yep, Daniel Craig is Bond in this one. Which really doesn't make that much sense to me, cause even though he's Bond now, he wasn't when Goldeneye came out, which is the movie that the game is named after... Anyway the game looks pretty cool, and I'm looking forward to having some nostalgia battles on my Wii in the future.

If you add in that additional content with killing Obi Wan and turning Luke to the darkside, that's awesome! This trailer looks wicked pisser and I can't wait to see more from it. The Vader Project

I got a chance to check out the preview of The Vader Project, and it was awesome. About 100 replica Darth Vader masks were given out to different artists and they were given free licence to do with them as they please. The masks are going to auction later next month. Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D

Well, the trailer for the next Resident Evil movie is on the interwebs. Hey, it's even at the bottom of this post. I hate to say I'm excited for this movie, but I am. I know that the RE film series kind of sucks, but that said, if I try to look at them as outside the video game world that Resident Evil has created, they're ok... That said, this one has some stuff that looks interesting to me. Namely Albert Wesker. There's a quick clip of him in the trailer and that's enough to whet my appetite. I hope that this movie digs more into the Umbrella company. Like how in the games you slowly find out more and more about Umbrella. I'd love to see that in this film. That said I'm sure it's gonna be plenty of action and a hugely aggro soundtrack. Resident Evil, you bitter, bitter pill...

It's a scene from the upcoming movie KICK ASS and it's spectacular (you thought I was going to say it's kick ass didn't you? I know I haven't posted in a while but give me an ounce of credit. Geez.) Nicholas Cage's character is up for the Fictional Dad of the Year Award as far as I'm concerned. And remember, no wincing.

Danielle Harris Joins Hatchet 2

Hatchet 2 starts filming early 2010, and one of the newest and best reasons to be excited about that is the addition of Halloween alum Danielle Harris.

Harris will become the new Marybeth in the sequel to the popular Hatchet. The film will follow Marybeth as she escapes from Victor Crowley and learns the truth of his curse. She then returns to the haunted New Orleans swamp to avenge her family and kill Victor Crowley once and for all.

Kane Hodder will reprise his role as Crowley, however this time around the Crowley makeup is supposed to be more realistic. It's supposed to be a similar look, but less "man in a rubber suit", so that's pretty exciting.

I really enjoyed the first Hatchet and can't wait to see what the sequel holds, though I'm not gonna lie, the edition of Danielle Harris is good enough for me.

Halloween 2 DVD Info

Iron Man 2 Poster

Man, all that technology in the Iron Man and War Machine Suits and neither seems to be aware that the other is directly behind them. It's sad really. But, you know, Tony Stark has a drinking problem.

Other than the fact that War Machine and Iron Man are unaware of each other, their confusing pose has made the teaser poster for Iron Man 2.

If you hadn't heard Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson are in the movie too. Yea, a recent Oscar nominee and one of the hottest women in Hollywood wouldn't drive movie sales, that's why they're not on the poster. Who wants to see ScarJo in some hot leather outfit anyway. Not comicbook fans, that's who.

Anyway, Iron Man 2 comes out May 7th of this coming year. Look for hope full awesomeness. If it can follow in the steps of The Dark Knight for sequel awesomeness, I can't wait. Also look for a teaser later this month.

Yea, he looks more accurately burned than Robert Englund's, and you know, he's kind of skinny looking. That's scary right?

His face kind of reminds me of Tiny from Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses. I'm just saying it similar. Especially around the eyes.

Ok, now this is just a game mod that someone made that I came across over at AICN. But how awesome is this? If you said, "Straight fucking awesome", you'd be right. I think a Back to the Future game would be awesome. You'd be driving along then jump time and end up in the same place you were but however many years off. That's super cool. You could include missions that change time for the better and try to get stuff that will improve the Delorean as you go along. Even something like Doc Brown was working on an experiment and because he's Doc Brown everything went haywire and now there are parts scattered throughout the timeline. That's plausible. Anyway, again, this isn't' a game in development, just a mod. But after seeing what a mod can do, I really want a full game!!!

Tanit Phoenix To Cry Little Sister

Well, as long as Lost Boys: The Thirst is filming in South Africa, why not add a local hottie to the cast? That's just what they've done.

Tanit Phoenix (More than likely her birth name) has just joined the 3rd installment of The Lost Boys franchise. Her role will be Gwen, a well off romance book author who hits up Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman) to help her find a lost family member gone missing.

You may know Phoenix from Lord of War, or Gallowalker. She joins the cast of Feldman, Jamison Newlander, Sean Cameron Michael and Seb Catang for the Dario Piana directed film. Now as you may recall Jamison Newlander was one of the Frog brothers. I think the last film hinted that he had turned into a vampire lord, so it will be interesting to see if they address that or if it's just glanced over. The film is due out on DVD next year.

The past few years haven't given us much from Woody Harrelson. Seems he dropped off of the Hollywood map to become an environmentalist. Well, he's back and in a big way. By now you should have already seen Zombieland, and yes, it was awesome. But do you know about his new movie? Probably not. That's why I'm writing this.

Harrelson returns in Defendor, his wannabe superhero film that was picked up by Sony Pictures after it's screening at Toronto Film Festival.

Harrelson recently had an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and had this to say about Defendor; "It's a guy who's mildly retarded who thinks he's a superhero, only, of course, bullets don't bounce off and he gets beat up all the time. He's trying to fight crime and falls in love with this girl, played wonderfully by Kat Dennings, who's a crack whore. Peter Stebbings wrote and directed it; he's an actor. I was surprised how good it turned out, and luckily Sony thought so too, because they picked it up."

Harrelson plays Arthur Poppington, AKA Defendor, who is set on taking down Captain Industry, who may or may not exist. And he's in love with a crack whore.

Sign me up. This sounds awesome. It's great to have Woody back making movies.

Dollhouse Canceled

In news more frustrating than it is surprising, FOX has canceled Joss Whedon's Dollhouse. This marks the second time that FOX has canceled a Whedon show due to low ratings after placing it in it's moratorium Friday night spot. The first time of course, was Firefly.

Dollhouse featured a pretty cool show to show plot about a group of operatives who could be programed to be anyone for whatever they were hired out to do, then returned to the mentality of docile children when they came back to The Dollhouse after the missions end. The overarching season one story was about Alpha, the one Doll who maintained aspects of his different installed personalities, and became a super-solider psycho. All this happened while Echo, the main Doll, played by Eliza Dushku, started to retain imprinted personalities as well. The show really kicked ass.

FOX plans to run the remaining 8 episodes of the 13 episode 2nd season. Whedon has stated that he would like to return to more internet work, his most famous being Dr. Horribles Sing Along Blog.

Hatchet 2

MySpace's official page for Victor Crowley recently added this teaser image.

While it also hints at casting that is being done for the film, other than the 2010 promise, there is still no official release date for the follow-up to one of the most beloved slasher films of the last 10 years.

The original Hatchet followed in the vein of Behind the Mask, in it's attempt to create new slashers, along the lines of Freddy, Jason and Michael, without being a remake of something. Hatchet was awesome and a really fun ride. I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel.

Black Cat In Spider Man 4

The past year has seen more Spider Man 4 rumors flying around the web than there are sorority girls at a Dave Matthews concert. But finally one piece of the puzzle has been confirmed.

There will again be two villains in the next Spider Man chapter, and one of them will be The Black Cat. Also released is that Rachel McAdams (Wedding Crashers, Sherlock Holmes) is one of the top contenders for the role of Felicia Hardy, aka The Black Cat.

Well, cool. While Spider Man 3 was a cluster fuck of villains, hopefully Rami and the crew will learn from it and be able to make a more interesting film this time out. Plus as most fans would know, Black Cat is similar to Catwoman in way too many ways. One of the biggest similarities being that The Cat usually ends up helping Spider Man, so it could easily be that she starts a villain, but ends up helping Spidey defeat another villain in an anti-hero turn.

But that's just speculation on my part. I'm kind of excited to see where the Spider Man news takes us. Knock this one out of the park, Sam!

Freddy The Doll

For a short time, the host of a pretty awful TV show. And occasionally a character in really terrible video games.

But all that was just a warm up to this; Freddy the Child's Toy.

That's right, this April you can have your very own Freddy Krueger doll. Living Dead Dolls and Mighty Muggs have both created there own Dream Demon sculpts and above are the results. What's a better gift to the child in your life than a doll based on someone who would want to touch their no-no bits if he was alive.

The hype continues for the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, coming this April.

What if the Sith Won?

That is the question posed at the end of the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition. Pretty sweet, huh?

Well, from what I can tell, Lucasfilms has re-released The Force Unleashed, now with 3 bonus levels. From the looks of things, the game continues after The Apprentice strikes down Darth Vader and starts to mop up The Empires dirty laundry. From the looks of the trailer, The Apprentice is going after Boba Fett, Obi Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker.

Awesome. Sure the first version of the game had it's flaws, but I loved it anyway. While the whole re-packaging of a game is kind of lame, I like how they're taking it out of just the "story you didn't know" universe and adding in a "fuck with the timeline" story.

Here's the poster for the new Werner Herzog film, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done.

The film, produced by David Lynch, follows the story of a man who kills his mother with a sword while acting out a Sophocles play. It's based on a true story.

The film features, Michael Shannon, Willem Dafoe, Chloe Sevigny, Udo Kier and Michael Pena. Only Michael Shannon has a non-weird name.

On December 11th, the movie opens at New Yorks IFC Center, then to select theaters after.

This sounds damn cool and weird. While I'm sure that it will play nowhere near me, I'll really be looking for this on the home release. If the plot alone hasn't drawn you in, here's the trailer. Man, Werner Herzog produced by David Lynch. Yep. This isn't one that you're going to be able to watch only once and fully appreciate.

Dr Who Animated Series

Dr Who fans have something new to look forward to. BBC Red Button will be airing a six-part animated Dr Who series starting on November 21st. The show will also be available on the site bbc.co.uk/doctorwho

Called Dreamland and described as a Dr Who meets a 50's B-Movie monster, the show will find the Doctor landing the TARDIS in the desert in the southern US. At a local diner the Doctor will find a strange alien artifact and that will lead him to Area 51, aka Dreamland.

This Dr Who outing will be penned by Phil Ford (Torchwood, Dr Who) and sounds like a pretty damn cool idea to me. So even though the show will not be immediately and legally available outside of the UK when it comes out, I'm sure some internet searching will be all you need to keep up on this cool sounding, kind of campy new Dr Who adventure.

Hellraiser Remake Still Moving Forward

Even though there is still no director attached to the film, Dimension Films states that their Hellraiser remake in 3D is still on track.

I guess that's a good thing, they've already remade A Nightmare on Elm Street, why not hit up one my other two favorite horror films, Hellraiser. And while you're at it, re-vamp Re-Animator, go for the trifecta. Actually, I've heard that there is a Re-Animator remake in the works too.

So, while the film would seem fairly adrift at sea, Dimension is not giving up on a new Hellraiser. Here's to hoping that it's super cool.

Ok, I'm shilling again. But this does fall into my "super awesome" category.

For those of you that haven't heard about this yet, for the last few years totallynerdcore.com has been offering yearly calenders that feature different "nerdy" themes. So far there have been video games, superheros and villains, Sci Fi, and this year, horror. That sounds cool enough, but now realise that it's hot, mostly naked, female models in said genera. Yep. Super awesome.

This year is horror? I can't wait for this. Just look at the teaser picture and tell me that that is not awesome. I know for the 4th year in a row, I'll be logging onto totallynerdcore.com and picking up their wicked fun and hot calender.

Oh, and there's all sorts of cool facts in the calender as well. You know how a lot of calenders will tell you when it's Valentines Day or Easter or some shit that you should know already? Well, this one also tells you when it's Judgement Day, and birthdays like Gene Roddenberry's or release dates for upcoming movies and the dates for classic film anniversaries as well. Yep, all that and hot chicks modeling horror themes. I may get one for each room.

The Cabin in the Woods

The Joss Whedon scripted horror film The Cabin in the Woods won't be coming to theaters this February. It's been pushed back until January 14th, 2011.

The Drew Goddard directed film is now also going to undergo 3D-ification! More, fucking 3D. Awesome.

I really am excited to see this film and I'm more than a little pissed that it's probably being pushed back to get it's 3D on. So hopefully we'll finally get to see The Cabin in the Woods in 2011. Unless they come out with Super 3D. Or Stripper-Vision or some shit. Actually, I would be ok with waiting for Stripper-Vision.

Leatherface in 3D

So it looks like Platinum Dunes has lost the rights to Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Well, Twisted Pictures, the company behind SAW, has picked it up.

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre will now be penned by The Grudge's Stephen Susco, and produced by Carl Mazzocone, Mark Burg and Oren Koules. Also the plan is to contemporize the story, bringing it into the present and... Wait for it... Make that fucker in 3D!!!!!

More 3D. Ok. So, Leatherface is in new hands and they want to bring him into the present. I guess I can get behind that. I don't know that I understand the need for all movies to be in 3D anymore, but maybe I'm just old fashioned. Maybe I also don't really like wearing cheap, knock off Ray Bans to watch a movie either. Regardless, another classic horror film that's been re-made recently is getting re-made again. God bless cinema.

Marge Simpson in Playboy

Yep, it's true. Marge Simpson is going to be a Playboy centerfold.

In WTF news so odd that I couldn't even make it up, Marge will do a non-nude spread in Playboy posing in a nightgown. To my knowledge it's the first time a cartoon character has ever had a cover spread for the men's magazine.

I guess this is kind of cool, but it also just seems weird. So, if like so many men my age, you grew up with The Simpsons, you now have the chance to pick up a Playboy with Marge on the cover. And you thought life was boring.

Night Of The Demons

Recently this image has popped up online showing Shannon Elizabeth as Angela from the new Night of the Demons remake.

Joining Elizabeth in the remake are Diora Baird, Monica Keena, Bobbi Sue Luther, Jonathan Beach, Michael Copon, Tiffany Shepis and Edward Furlong.

Here's the official synopsis of the remake;
"Angela Feld is throwing the Halloween part to end all Halloween Parties at the infamous Broussard Mansion in New Orleans, where dark events transpired almost a century ago. But when the packed party gets busted by the police, Angela and her friends Maddie, Lily, Suzanne, Colin, Dex and Jason are the only ones left behind. Soon Colin and Angela make a grisly discovery in the basement and inexplicable events start to take place. With the mansion gates mysteriously locked, the seven find themselves trapped for the night... and soon they're fighting ancient demons for their very souls."

Well, that sounds pretty close to what I remember the original being. Hope that this remake is a good one. Pretty excited about the casting. I'm a sucker for Monica Keena.

While there is no official release date for the film yet, IMDB gives a February 2010 date. So maybe that's some indicator.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 DLC

Although the release date has only been listed as soon, Marvel has announced that there will be a new character pack coming as downloadable content for Ultimate Alliance 2.

The most exciting part of that being that one of my favorite Marvel villains will be added to the playable characters, Carnage. Yep. Motherfucking Carnage. Damn, I can't wait for that.

Bay to Kill Megan Fox

The rumors have begun floating around the interwebs about Transformers 3. One of the more interesting that I've heard is that Michael Bay is considering killing love interest Megan Fox within the opening minutes of the film.

Hollyscoop.com has reported "Michael's pretty much discovered Megan and now he's very quietly looking for her replacement. He hasn't decided if he's going to kill her in the next movie, but he just wants to be prepared."

Well, with the mud slinging that's gone on between the two in recent interviews, it's not that surprising that Bay is considering a gory film death for Fox. But come on Michael, Fox is one of the last decent things about the Transformers movies. You're male lead is pretty annoying and you're running out of stereotypes to make Transformers out of. At least don't take away our eye candy. Sure, she's not the greatest actress out there, but staring at her was one of the best parts of Revenge of the Fallen. So if you're gonna kill her, you'd better have a pretty kick ass story to carry the film. But given your track record, I won't hold my breath.

Friday The 13th Part II

Well, it looks like we're not going to have to wait too long for a sequel to the remake of Friday the 13h.

Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the writers of the first remake are working on a sequel currently. There's even a release date set, 08.13.12.

That's not all. The 13th film in the franchise will also be filmed in 3D. Other than that, not a lot is known about the story, but currently it is planned that it will take place in a snowy environment.

Ok, cool. The first Friday remake wasn't too bad, and I've heard from the scrip writers that they plan to address some of the issues fans had with it. So hopefully Jason's second trip out will be even more awesome. Come on, it's the 13th Friday the 13th. Go all out!

Never Sleep Again

So, I'm sure you all remember His Name Was Jason. The Friday the 13th documentary that followed the history of the franchise and was hosted by Tom Savini. Well, if you're anything like me, you're drunk right now... But besides that, you're wondering when they're gonna make a Nightmare on Elm Street documentary like that. Well, wait only a little longer.

That's right, currently work is being done on Never Sleep Again, the DVD doc that will explore the history of the Nightmare franchise and of Robert Englund's Freddy. Heather Langenkamp, the series original Nancy, will host the 90 min show. From what I've heard, much like His Name Was Jason, Never Sleep Again will release before the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street to help drum up hype. My hype is already drummed. I can't wait for this shit. Here's the trailer...

Here at The Nothing Files, I kind of hate to shill anything, but sometimes, something so cool comes along, I just have to bring it up. This is one of those times.

Thinkgeek.com is now offering a Dagobah frog habitat. It's a little aquarium that comes with a Yoda's hut piece with a little Yoda figure and a mail-in card for tadpole food. All that for just $39.99. That's a whole lot of awesome for not much of a price.

I've had River Tanks and all kinds of aquariums in my day, and I can honestly say that This is way cooler than any of that. It's fucking Yoda's hut. And you can have a pet frog live in it. That, my friends, is awesome.

Batman Arkham Asylum Review and News

Batman Arkham Asylum. I would have reviewed it sooner if I hadn't been glued to my TV playing it for the last couple of weeks.

Damn is this a great game. I'm gonna put it up for greatest superhero game I've ever played, and I've heard it's on a lot of lists for game of the year, and for good reason. It's just damn fun. You're the Batman, and not a crappy side scrolling semi-retarded Batman. You're the real deal. You see, the Joker has tricked you into getting him into Arkham Asylum, whereupon he has released an army of Batman's greatest foes. It's up to you to do the Batman thing and fight through the night to lock them all back up and take the Joker down again.

You get everything in this one. You've got a really fun and fairly intuitive fighting style that lets you walk into a room filled with 10 guys and take them all out without ever taking a hit. Then you've also got Batman's stealth, where you can run and grapple around a room and take out baddies without them ever even knowing where you are. Those two things are fun enough, hell their fun enough to warrant their own mini games, but when you add the uniqueness of the boss fights and all the different Riddler challenges, you've got one hell of a well rounded game. There's nothing cooler than when you're doing stealth take downs to hear the terror in the voices of the villains, all while Mark Hamill's Joker is taunting them for getting take out. What can I say, if you don't have this one yet, you're really missing out.

Now for those of you that have played it are saying, yea, I know all this shit, where's the news you promised, well, here you go. MTV's gaming site, Multiplayer.com, has announced that on September 17th free content will be available for download. That's right, the game hasn't even been out a month and there's gonna be a free content download. Unknown what the content is as of now, maybe new challenge levels, maybe new levels or challenges for the game, but its on the way. So keep your eye out for all new ways to keep Batman Arkham Asylum kicking ass for the forcible future.

1st Anniversary

Well, it's been a year. This week marks the 1st year anniversary of The Nothing Files website. We even got a space dragon to wish us happy anniversary!

Man, it doesn't seem like it's been that long, but it's been a great ride so far. In the next year look for more awesome reviews and more of Thom and I rarely agreeing about anything. We've still got a lot in store.

Wet

Holy shit. How am I just finding out about this?

This Tuesday the 15th, Wet hits PS3 and Xbox 360. It's a grindhouse aesthetic game about a female "fixer" who is gets put on a job to kill everyone and anyone for the most part. The "fixer", Ruby, is voiced by Eliza Dushku and in an E3 interview she talked about how Ruby was even based on some roles she had played previously. I can't tell you how excited I am for this one. Ok, I know not everyone is super excited about Sorority Row. All I can say is if the movie is as cool as this poster looks, it's gonna be one hell of a ride.

I know it's not the most original idea. Prank gone wrong, someone returns from the grave presumably, hellbent on revenge. It seems a lot like I Know What You Did Last Summer in a sorority house. But that aside, I still think it looks like a cool movie.

I know, I love almost any horror film, and I'll own that, but come on. Give it a chance. The worst thing that can happen is it will be a mediocre horror film with some hot girls that a couple of will inevitably get naked, and most of will die. See, that's not so bad.

Sure it's not reinventing the wheel... Ok, it's not even trying but I'll give it a day in court. Plus, I'm sure Thom will hate it, and that's good enough for me.

Star Trek To Return To IMAX

James O'Barr's New Comics

James O'Barr, the guy who gave us the comic The Crow is in the works on some new books. Shock Till You Drop has reported the following;

"He's working on two new comics. 'The Ride' will feature a story revolving around a car chase between a late 60's Camaro and a Cuda. The other comic, which is being fully painted, it titled 'Sundown in Hell' and is being touted as a vampire western.

A 20th anniversary edition 'Crow' comic was scheduled to be released this year, but is now being planned for sometime early next year. James stated that when he was working on the original 'Crow' some 32 pages of material had been cut. This new edition will feature that material.

In regards to 'The Crow' movie, he still keeps in touch with Alex Proyas and mentioned that 11 minutes of footage had been cut from the film, as it has originally received an X rating. James said that most of those 11 minutes featured Brandon Lee. James mentioned that Alex has been talking with studios to access that material."

Well, it's never a bad day when you hear about more potential Crow stuff. Lets hope both the book and a re-cut movie can get off the ground in our lifetimes. I'm kind of shocked we haven't seen either yet.

Teen Wolf and Heathers to TV

So it looks like TV is turning to the good films of the 80's for inspiration.

First off, MTV is currently working on shooting a pilot for Teen Wolf. The classic Michael J. Fox movie will be re-created into a weekly series.

Sony Studios is also working on developing one of my favorite movies of all time, Heathers, into a new weekly. This one kind of breaks my heart more because Heathers is kind of in that untouchable arena for me. It just captured that age so well and was a really good and kind of campy teen-angst/coming of age film. Ok, less coming of age, but still awesome. Plus that was some Winona Ryder and Christian Slater at their primes. That's gonna be hard to re-cast.

Who knows the theme of Heathers was revolting against youth clicks, easily manipulated ideals and teen revolt, and that could be restructured to fit today's times. I hate to be the old curmudgeon talking about how everything used to be better, but in this case, I think everything is better left alone...

Episode 12

Well, we've gone and done it. We've finally released the 12th episode of The Nothing Files.

You know what we talk about this time? Well, if you have any kind of memory and can see the image that I slopped together, you can tell that we talk about Knowing. The shitty Nic Cage movie. What do we think about it? Well, you're just going to have to go to iTunes and download the episode to find out.

We also decide to change things up a bit and get wicked drunk. I know? Crazy right? Fuck we're edgy.

I don't want to reveal too much about the episode, you know, I don't want to give away the ending... But I will tell you one thing. Knowing fucking sucks.

So go and check out Episode 12. And if you haven't heard any of the older ones check those out too. You'd be amazed at how much less shitty most of the movies we pick are. Do it now.

Disney Now Runs Marvel

That's right! Marvel Studios has been acquired by Disney. Man, that could be awesome or wicked lame.

From all of the early news it sounds like Disney is willing to honor the previous Marvel contracts and won't stop Paramount to distribute Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America or The Avengers.

One of the most exciting aspects of Marvel being under the Disney umbrella is the potential for a Marvel/Pixar film. Evidently they have already been in talks and both sides are very excited.

Well, let's hope this opens up a whole new world of awesome for the Marvel team. Hope they can keep pumping out Iron Man quality movies with The Mouse.

The History Of Arkham Asylum

Bioshock 2

So I realised today that I haven't really talked at all about the upcoming Bioshock 2 game.

From everything I've heard so far, this game is going to rip. The first Bioshock was about one of my favorite games of all time, and it's looking like it's follow up will be right there with it.

This time around you play as a Big Daddy and you're still encountering familiar characters from the first game. The most noted addition so far is the Big Sister, a faster and sleeker Big Daddy that really wants to fuck you up.

To the right you can see Jhonen Vasquez's (Johnny The Homicidal Maniac, Invader Zim) art that he's made for the game. And here is the teaser trailer. I can not wait for this shit.
