Episode 12

Well, we've gone and done it. We've finally released the 12th episode of The Nothing Files.

You know what we talk about this time? Well, if you have any kind of memory and can see the image that I slopped together, you can tell that we talk about Knowing. The shitty Nic Cage movie. What do we think about it? Well, you're just going to have to go to iTunes and download the episode to find out.

We also decide to change things up a bit and get wicked drunk. I know? Crazy right? Fuck we're edgy.

I don't want to reveal too much about the episode, you know, I don't want to give away the ending... But I will tell you one thing. Knowing fucking sucks.

So go and check out Episode 12. And if you haven't heard any of the older ones check those out too. You'd be amazed at how much less shitty most of the movies we pick are. Do it now.

Disney Now Runs Marvel

That's right! Marvel Studios has been acquired by Disney. Man, that could be awesome or wicked lame.

From all of the early news it sounds like Disney is willing to honor the previous Marvel contracts and won't stop Paramount to distribute Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America or The Avengers.

One of the most exciting aspects of Marvel being under the Disney umbrella is the potential for a Marvel/Pixar film. Evidently they have already been in talks and both sides are very excited.

Well, let's hope this opens up a whole new world of awesome for the Marvel team. Hope they can keep pumping out Iron Man quality movies with The Mouse.

The History Of Arkham Asylum

So with only days to go before Batman: Arkham Asylum coming out, what is sure to be the last teaser trailer for the game has come out. This time around it's the history of Arkham as told by Dr. Amedus Arkham himself. I still can't wait. I got the damn thing on pre-order, so the UPS man should wake me up Tuesday morning and deliver a reason for me to get out of bed for the next month or so. Here's your last taste before the real deal.

Imaginarium Of Dr.Parnassus Trailer

I've been waiting years to see this trailer and I can't wait for this movie. I'm not even going to talk any shit. Here it is, the trailer for The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.

Bioshock 2

So I realised today that I haven't really talked at all about the upcoming Bioshock 2 game.

From everything I've heard so far, this game is going to rip. The first Bioshock was about one of my favorite games of all time, and it's looking like it's follow up will be right there with it.

This time around you play as a Big Daddy and you're still encountering familiar characters from the first game. The most noted addition so far is the Big Sister, a faster and sleeker Big Daddy that really wants to fuck you up.

To the right you can see Jhonen Vasquez's (Johnny The Homicidal Maniac, Invader Zim) art that he's made for the game. And here is the teaser trailer. I can not wait for this shit.

Megan Fox Supergirl

No news items here. I just realised that it's been a really long time since I've written any Megan Fox news on here.

I can look at the user stats and see the most views for the site. That's how I know that you all love a new Megan Fox story.

Well, I don't have any real news about what she's up to. Just googled her name and this was the first picture I got.

So happy Thursday. Megan Fox is still way too hot.

The Wolfman Trailer

So Universal's The Wolfman has a trailer. You're about to see it. The movie is from Joe Johnston and reflects Universal's desire to pay homage to their classic monster movie past.

The Wolfman stars Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving and Emily Blunt.

Evidently the most controversy from this film has come from discussions about the transformation sequences. How Del Toro will turn from human to werewolf. There's a big uproar over CGI vs makeup effects. Who knew that would be such a highly contended issue. I guess, I just figure, if the movie is good, and can be a little more forgiving about the transformation effects. But I'm a horror movie apologist. As long as it's better than Van Helsing, I won't be that pissed. The trailer looks pretty cool. Judge for yourself.

And don't forget that Joe Johnston's next film will be Captain America.

I Will Be Legend

Yep, that I Am Legend prequel that we keep hearing rumors about is going to happen. It's even in development for a 2011 release.

At Comic-Con Francis Lawrence, the director of the first I Am Legend, talked with Shock Til You Drop and the future of the franchise came up.

"Yes, yes, absolutely, we're actually trying to crack that. We're trying to figure out some ideas for it, but yes, it would be a prequel."

He also confirmed that Will Smith would in fact return to reprise his role. The film would take place in NYC and follow Smiths character before the zombies took over.

Sounds kind of cool. I'm kind of on the fence with I Am Legend. It was a pretty decent film, but it just never really caught me. I found it hard to care too much about Smith's character, and I didn't really have feelings either way for the infected... I guess they're pretty good at headbutting shit like glass and things, but beyond that, um... Well, they could eat a deer. I remember that. And they were kind of hybrid zombie vampires, so that was ok I guess. But the only real zombie thing was that they look dead and infect you with their bite. They're dumb, but not overly zombie dumb. And they're like vampires because sunlight burns them. Eh, ok, they were kind of dumb and aren't even going to have taken over yet, so who gives a shit. This movie will probably suck too.

No word yet on Will Smith returning for a sequel to Independence Day.

James Marsters To Caprica

I'm getting more and more excited about the Battlestar Galactica pre-spinoff the more I hear about it.

Earlier you saw us post that funnyman Patton Oswalt would be a recurring character, now it's come out that James Marsters will be joining the cast also.

Marsters is probably best known for his roles as Spike on Buffy and Angel and as Brainiac on Smallville.

On Caprica, Marsters will play Barnabus Greely, a terrorist leader. Marsters is committed to at least three episodes of the show.

Man, James Marsters is awesome. I've enjoyed everything this dude has done. I can't wait to see him in the Battlestar universe.

Look for Caprica to start it's run on the newly named SyFy on January 22nd.

Batman Arkham Asylum Gadgets

Ok, so we're only a couple of weeks out from Batman Arkham Asylum and they won't let me stop getting excited for this game. With different teaser videos coming out almost 3-4 a month, here's a really cool one. Want to know what you're gonna have in your bat-arsenal this time around? Well, here's the Arkham Asylum Gadgets video.

Ok, that was pretty damn cool. My only thing is, when Batman uses the Bat-Explody Gel, does he apply it to the wall in the form of the Bat Logo? That arrogant bastard. Other than that little complaint, this game looks fucking sick. Look for Arkham Asylum on the 25th of August, then look for Thom and I on Xbox Live playing the shit out of it.

Patton Oswalt to Join Caprica

Super funny comedian and nerd Patton Oswalt is coming back to awesome TV. He's signed on for a recurring role in the new Caprica, the Battlestar Galatica prequel series.

Oswalt will play Baxter Sarno on Caprica. Sarno is a popular comedian who invites Daniel Greystone, the inventor of the Cylons, onto his show.

I love seeing this guy get roles. When he showed up on Dollhouse I was nerding out like a bastard. He's just fucking funny, and you know that he loves the sci fi stuff just as much as you do.

So here's to hoping that Caprica is awesome and that Patton can bring his own brand of Hobbit-Humor to the show. Can't wait to watch it drunk.

Robert Downey Jr as Lestat?

Rumors are flying all over the interwebs that Universal is working towards restarting Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. It makes sense, with crap like Twilight and awesome stuff like True Blood that is all popular with the kids now. Rice's books are not only pretty damn awesome, but they come with a pretty large built in fan base too.

So recently with all this Vampire Chronicles spectating, it's come out that Robert Downey Jr is talking right now with Universal to take on the role of Lestat in the new films. That would be pretty fucking awesome. I've defiantly drank the RDJr Koolaid. I pretty much like anything that guy has done in the past forever.

It is unknown if Universal will restart with Interview with the Vampire, the first from the series, or if they will pick a book that has not been filmed previously. Regardless, if they can manage to not fuck them up as much as they did with the first Interview and The Queen of the Damned then I'm excited. Let's hope this actually goes somewhere.

The Walking Dead

The Hollywood Reporter has just put out an article detailing AMC's acquisition of The Walking Dead for TV development.

The Walking Dead, by Robert Kirkman, has been under development by Frank Darabont (Director; The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) for sometime now, but after a heavy bidding war, AMC has walked away with it.

The book follows a group of survivors lead by former cop Rick Grimes in their struggle to survive not only against the walking dead, but other humans also struggling for resources and survival.

This, along with Hack/Slash is one of my favorite books that's in print right now. It's smartly written and draws you in to each of the characters. What I also like about it is it's realism. There are no flawless characters. Even the heroes have breakdowns and make the wrong choices. It's a brilliantly written zombie survival book. I can't wait for this. I really hope that Darabont and AMC can knock this one out of the park. Kirkman, his book and its fans deserve a great live action accompaniment.

Happy 70th Marvel

Today marks the 70th year of Marvel Comics!
From all of us here at The Nothing Files, Happy 70th Marvel!!!

Man, 70 pretty damn great years. Marvel has gone from a small comic company to owning it's own motion picture production studio. A studio that is putting out some of the best comic movies ever made.

It is without question that after even 70 years Marvel is running strong with some of the best books coming out right now. So good work Marvel. I can't wait to see what the next 30 years look like. Come on, I'm 30 myself. If I can still read comics at 60, I'll invite Marvel over to have lemonade on my porch and we can yell at the kids to stay off my lawn.

GI Joe Musical

So I've been wicked sick and haven't had a chance to check out GI Joe yet, so sorry, no scathing review today. But after surfing the interwebs I came upon this video on Funny Or Die. If the GI Joe movie is half as awesome as this video, I'm not gonna have much to complain about.

SAW Blood Drive

One of the last remaining cool things about the SAW franchise is it's annual blood drive posters. The blood drive benefits the Red Cross and the posters are always pretty cool.

This years is super awesome as you can see. The corset was made by The Blonds, NY fashion moguls known for making hip corsets for the famous.

So while the new SAW movie will probably suck, and the upcoming game still looks pretty cool, at least they're still getting it right with the blood drive posters.

Star Wars Dance

You know, I've always wanted to go to one of the Star Wars Weekends that Disney puts on. After watching this, I'm not so upset I've never made it to one. If you make it through the full video, there's a good chance that your curiosity outweighs your common sense.

Lindsay Lohan In Machete?

According to Lindsay Lohan, she has joined Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jonah Hill, Michelle Rodriguez and Steven Seagal in the cast of Machete.

Earlier, Lindsay Tweeted "something was made official today!!!!!!", then a few hours later she posted a link to IMDB's page for Machete.

Is this really happening or is Lindsay having one of her famous and awesome breakdowns? If it's true or not, is not confirmed yet, but it's good enough to report on. I hate Lindsay way less than a lot of her contemporaries, and think it would be cool to see her in a sleazy grindhouse film. Plus, Machete isn't going to be great because it's gonna have some really great acting. Seagal is in it for fuck sake. So hopefully Lindsay is right. I'll watch Machete with or without her, but it's casting I didn't see coming, and that's something!

Robin's Big Date

Well, if you've yet to see the short Robin's Big Date, you're about to...

It's Sam Rockwell as a big cockblocking Batman and Justin Long as a bumbling, love-sick Robin. I'm putting it up, not only because it's funny, but because at Comic Con Rockwell hinted that they may do a sequel. So here it is, Robin's Big Date.
