Tom Welling Will Never Wear The Superman Suit

Tom Welling will never wear the Superman suit? At least not on Smallville. Fucking lame.

“It would be the end of the show because that would be when Smallville would end and Superman would begin,” says Al Gough, series co-creator.

I understand that the series has always been about Clark Kent becoming Superman, and not him being Superman. It is kind of annoying that Clark refuses to fly and that he's still dealing with pretty low rent villains a lot of the time. It's cool to see them bring in characters like Bizzaro and a lot of the Justice League guys but Clark's getting older, and this world needs it's hero.

Also, evedently the romance between Lois and Clark will never happen on the show either because of the franchiese film restrictions placed on the show. That's kind of lame too, but I'd still rather see Clark suit up then make out with Lois.

So Millar and Gough have said that the only possibility for Clark to get his Superman gear on is if it were in the final scenes of the final episode. I think that would be a great way to end the show. Most of the principle actors have left and the show doesn't seem to have the punch that it used to. Let the show go out on top. Have Clark suit up and fly away. There could be no better end to Smallville.
