Mark Millar and the Greatest Superman Stories Never Told

For the uninitiated, Mark Millar wrote and co-produced both Wanted, the upcoming Kick-Ass and has written some of the best comics out there. He has also been very passionate about helping Warner Brothers re-start it's ailing Superman franchise.

Millar had a dream, and a damn cool on if you ask me, about a Lord of the Rings style Superman trilogy. The final movie would end with Superman as the last man on Earth. Ok, kind of hard to follow that up with anything, but I still think it would be awesome. I'd love to see a grand scale, over the top Superman movie. And in planning to do a trilogy, you can have ridiculously cool stuff happen. I don't know. I just think it sounds sweet.

Unfortunately this is what Millar recently posted on his message board;

“Warner’s talked to us and a few other writer/director teams, but things seem to be in stasis right now. As far as I understand, nothing is happening with Superman at the moment and so the director and I are just working on another project. If it happens, great. If it doesn’t, no biggie.”

Crap. Well, good luck Mark. I'd love to see your Superman vision. I just wish that Warner Bros would do something with the Superman films. I love old Supes and it's time to get him back on the big screen, damnit.
