Machete

In super awsome, please God let it be true news, there are a lot of rumors on the nets that Machete will actually be a film. The Weinstein Co. is planning on shooting Robert Rodriguez's Machete as soon as later this year.

Fans of the Tarantino/Rodriguez films that made up '07's Grindhouse fondly remember all the faux trailers that came before and between both movies. With trailers like Eli Roth's Thanksgiving, Edgar Wright's Don't and Rob Zombies Werewolf Women of the SS, the crowd favorite has always been Machete. Machete is Danny Trejo in Rodriguez's trailer of a Mexican day laborer highered to kill a senator. Betrayed and double crossed, the ex-federale reaps his bloody vengeance on the men who set him up. "They fucked with the wrong Mexican."

I really hope this gets made. Contrary to the populace, I really liked both Grindhouse films and would love to see additional sets made. All the trailers looked awesome, especially Machete and I can't wait to see some form of it. Get this fucker made!
