Deathtroopers

Ok, two of the greatest things ever are about to collide in what I hope will be one of the coolest books I've read in years.

Author Joe Schreiber (Chasing the Dead, Eat the Dark) is writing a new Star Wars book, slated for an October 27th release from Del Ray Publishing. Get this, it's a Star Wars horror book!

Yep, how awesome does that sound. Here's some words from the author himself; "I've tried to make it into exactly the kind of book you'd want to read if you were a child of the '70's who grew up with the original Star Wars trilogy and really digs horror in the vein of The Shining and Alien, with a little dose of William Gibson mixed in."

Deathtroopers sounds like the book I've been waiting for the past 30 years. And this info comes from www.starwars.com, so you don't get much more official than that. Looks like '09 might not be too bad a year for horror fans.
